Giving young people with learning disabilities, psychological diseases or disadvantages the possibility of seizing an appropriate profession and finding their place in society- that is the goal and duty of the Vocational Rehabilitation Center Südhessen (bbw) situated in Karben, just north of Frankfurt Main.

The bbw offers traineeships in around 30 approved professions; besides this it supports young women and men in clarifying their professional perspectives and preparing themselves for traineeships, through vocational preparation and the assessment of their professional skills. The availability of holistic counselling and learning opportunities, as well as a combination of practical traineeships in our studios and extensive operational periods in external businesses, play a central role for us just as does the communal living in our residential village. What concludes this process is the placement service offered to the students by the bbw.
As different as the youths or young adults are so are their needs, restrictions and skills. This is why, what is of significant importance to us is the specific personal advancement of every individual. In addition to this the bbw Südhessen offers more: as a complex service establishment for rehabilitation, education, job market and integration the bbw sees itself as a facilitator of youth and integration agencies. Furthermore the bbw is part of a tight network, in which it works together with businesses, and other institutions.

Dates for visitations and counselling:

Those interested are sincerely invited to visit the bbw.
Every 1st Wednesday of the month a visitors afternoon is offered starting at 1.30 pm (This does not include the holiday months). If requested we naturally offer the possibility of extra appointments for groups and individual appointments for counselling.
